The Doc Gizmo Science Theatre is an hour long assembly type program designed to expose students and large groups to the excitement and fun of Science. The program includes about 20 Discrepant Event demonstrations. Demos are taken from "Gimmicks, Gizmos & Discrepant Events", the collection of 160 demonstrations and activities used by Susan Arnold during her 41 years of teaching experience. Most are done with inexpensive equipment but never-the-less are done with imagination and fun. Students think they are being entertained but find that they have learned many concepts of science that they did not understand before. They are encouraged to ask questions and expand their minds, to be willing to try new activities, get out of their ruts, and think outside of the box.
